The ANC is convinced that they are the best political solution for the country. However, we judge a tree by the fruits it bears, not by the fruit it talks about. The true state of the nation paints a dark picture of a government that has failed us miserably.
Here are the facts from the ground up, for the ANC whose heads are so high in the clouds, they are a ruling party disconnected from the hardships the people of South Africa face on a daily basis. Despite the promises by the ANC last year to dramatically reduce the severity of load shedding in the coming months and eventually end load shedding altogether. Load shedding and its destructive impact on the country continue unabated and crush any hope of economic growth and progress. Load shedding has worsened, including the significant 350% increase in electricity prices over the past decade.
Poverty and the escalating cost of living were prominent on Ramaphosa’s agenda last year. Since then, however, the cost of living has surged even further due to high-interest rates and rising prices.
Simultaneously, South Africans are experiencing a decline in their incomes, contributing to an increase in the unemployment rate from 20% in 2003 to almost 30% presently. The estimated poverty rate in 2022 stood at 62.6%, with 1,162,858 more people pushed into the poverty line in 2023. Yet, the President claimed that “our economy is three times larger than what it was 30 years ago.” I’m not sure if he’s referring to his personal economy or that of his political cronies. According to the World Bank data, South Africa’s economy grew only by 1.9 times from 1994 to 2022.
Crime and corruption persist despite the ANC’s promises to address them. Thousands of people are murdered in South Africa every year, and it was announced at the end of last year that the murder rate for the past financial year was the highest in two decades. Zuma’s trial experienced repeated postponements attributed to unfounded allegations of biased judges, underscoring the difficulties in holding corrupt leaders accountable in this nation. The ANC has time to intervene in international courts, ostensibly trying to save the world, while our judiciary has been captured by political criminals, and they fail to prevent the carnage in our country.
It is clear that the ANC has demonstrated competence in one aspect – they are beyond reform.
I urge you as a citizen of this country, to please, join me, and do the responsible thing, VOTE!
May God Bless our land!
